Upon earning her bachelor’s in business/marketing management from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, Claire C. Carr enrolled at the University of Richmond School of Law. While studying for her juris doctor, she completed an internship for lawyer David Baugh and the Attorney General in the Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services. Upon graduation from law school, Carr served two years as a law clerk to Supreme Court of Virginia, simultaneously for Senior Justice Richard H. Poff and for the Office of the Chief Staff Attorney. In 1992 she joined Kalbaugh Pfund & Messersmith (KPM) as the firm's first associate, where she has practiced her entire career spanning nearly 30 years, and now serves as the managing partner and lead of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group.

Since joining KPM in Richmond, VA, Claire Carr has defended thousands of cases on behalf of privately owned employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators, among others.
